SMALL BUSINESSES AND COVID-19

After the COVID-19 outbreak in early 2020, we saw a huge rise in small businesses across the UK.

4.7 million people in the UK were on the furlough scheme by the end of January 2021; this does not include the redundancies across the country. If we look at this as a positive, we saw the rise in the creation of SME's. From eyelashes, food and desserts, clothing and jewellery businesses were made overnight and some of which became extremely successful and generated enough money that their owners did not need to look back and consider a full time job ever again.

Now things are looking and feeling a bit more normal, we must stick to the mantras we were so strongly encouraged to live by during the lockdown period.

Eat and shop locally, support smaller (non fast fashion and unethical) businesses and together we can help support the communities we live in and keep money in the pockets of the people and not multi-billion dollar companies.

What do you think? Let's talk in the comments.
